Bennbrooke and a long-standing client continue successful collaboration on another project in Frankfurt/Sossenheim

After working together on a previous data centre project in the Sossenheim business district in Frankfurt am Main in 2016, Bennbrooke and a long-standing Bennbrooke client continue their successful collaboration and successfully complete another transaction. The Bennbrooke team supported the well-known data centre operator in the acquisition of the project planning on an approx. 12,500 m2 site in the immediate vicinity of the client's existing building. With the acquisition of the additional space, the client thus has the opportunity to further expand its presence in the data centre hotspot Frankfurt-Sossenheim. Bennbrooke assisted the client in the acquisition and negotiations with the vendors, and sold the Bennbrooke project development to the client in a forward deal. Along with this project, Bennbrooke has developed a number of data centre projects in the Sossenheim business park over the past few years. The total capacity of all Bennbrooke projects now amounts to well over 100 MW of IT capacity. The data centre team of the world's largest law firm Dentons Europe LLP supported the transaction, as did the data centre competence team of BNP Paribas Real Estate GmbH. Bennbrooke, which develops customised data centre project concepts for its clients, is currently developing further projects with a focus on Frankfurt am Main and the Rhine-Main region, Hamburg, Munich and Berlin. Bennbrooke sells Datacenter project development in Hamburg to Equinix

Following several successfully completed project developments and transactions in Frankfurt am Main, Berlin and Leipzig, Bennbrooke developed a further location in Germany and completed the sale of the latest project development for a data centre in the Hanseatic City of Hamburg in the first quarter of 2019. Equinix purchased the property (measuring ca. 12,000 sqm) for EUR 9 million and will invest another EUR 22 million to redevelop the space in phase one from 375 cabinets with the ability to expand to 1,875 cabinets at full build. The property is an industrial property that was used for many years as a production site for the aviation industry. Bennbrooke recognized the potential and suitability of the site for conversion as a data center at an early stage and compiled and verified all further prerequisites for successful conversion and worked them out as part of a comprehensive project development. Thanks to the many years of know-how and expertise of the Bennbrooke specialists, it was possible to design a project that meets the requirements of the growing market at the Hamburg location and at the same time has potential for further growth at the location. The global law firm of Dentons Europe LLP acted as legal advisor to Bennbrooke. Bennbrooke is currently involved in further project developments in Frankfurt am Main, in the Rhine-Main region and throughout Germany and develops tailor-made data center project concepts for its customers.

Bennbrooke and Penta Continue Successful Cooperation

After cooperating on a data center project for HL Komm in Leipzig, Penta and Bennbrooke have successfully completed another project together. Both parties participated as part of a joint bidder group in the framework of an investor competition sponsored by Deutsche Bahn for the sale of its DB Systel Datacenter in Berlin-Mahlsdorf. The concept developed by Penta and Bennbrooke for the further operation of the data center, which applies not only to the contractually fixed term but contains an option for a continuing period thereafter and which also foresees an opening for new users, convinced DB to award the project to the Penta / Bennbrooke joint venture. Frank Langer, Managing Director or Bennbrooke GmbH, notes “With our partner Penta, we were once again able to convince an ambitious client of our joint capabilities. Penta is a reliable and long-term strategic partner for Bennbrooke. We therefore look forward to further joint projects."
